Hello everybody

I am glad to tell you that we have released free Saint Valentine`s Day screensavers.

Saint Valentine’s Day is a holiday celebrated on February 14 by many people throughout the world. It is the traditional day on which lovers express their love for each other by sending Valentine’s cards, presenting flowers.

We offer you free Saint Valentine`s Day screensavers for you and your friends and lovers.

Also there are 5 free screensavers which we call I LOVE U.

 About the holiday in brief

A Catholic priest named Valentine lived in the third century, and was killed in Rome during the Christian persecutions. He was made a saint later, and his saints’ day was declared Feb. 14. Saint Valentine may have been named the patron saint of love because of legends surrounding him. People began celebrating St. Valentine’s Day as a day for lovers in about the fourteenth century.

How to Use Your Windows Password for Your Screensaver Password

January 14, 2010 by newfreescreensavers

Hello

I would like to announce that soon Newfreescreensavers.com website will have a new look and more free screensavers.

A key element of the website will be the presence of categories to streamline the users ease of use.

Meanwhile here is a new tip from Newfreescreensavers.com on how to use a windows password for your screensaver password.

If you need to protect your files when you walk away from your computer, you can set up a screensaver password, which locks your computer when the screensaver is on. The screen saver password is the same password that you use when logging on to Windows.

If you don’t have a Windows password, first it is necessary to create a password for Windows .

After that you can proceed to setting a password:
1.Open Screen Saver Settings by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking Appearance and Personalization, clicking Personalization, and then clicking ScreenSaver.
If you are using an older version of Windows you will click Start, point to Settings and then click on Control Panel.
If your Control Panel is in Category View, click the option in the task pane that says Switch to Classic View.
Double click Display. The Display Properties dialog box will open.
2.Click on the ScreenSaver tab. Under ScreenSaver, click on your choice of screen saver.
3.Select the On resume, Password Protection or On resume, Display Welcome Screen, require logon check box, set a time after which to start the screen saver, and then click Apply and OK. (Choose a wait time that’s not long enough for an unauthorized person to use your computer, but not so short that if you are idle for a moment, the screen saver locks your computer.)
If Fast User Switching is turned on, select the On resume, display logon screen check box.

I thought that such information might be useful for other users too.

So

1. Click the Windows “Start” button and click the “Control Panel.”
2. Click on “Programs” in the Control Panel and then click on “Programs and Features.” You will see a list of screensavers installed on your computer.
3. Scroll through and click the screensaver you want to delete. Click “Uninstall” to remove it from your computer.

Note that the screensavers that come with Windows, however, can’t be removed.

In Windows XP and Vista, you can configure a screensaver easily:

Creating a screenaver for yourself is fun.

November 25, 2009 by newfreescreensavers

Sometimes navigating in the Internet it is impossible to find a screensaver you want.

For such users different developers offer special programs, which can help them to create a screensaver of their own. In my opinion this method suits those who has time and do want to spend it with any use.

So if you have a great desire to create something of your own, you will need one of such programs.

Personally after an hour of search I downloaded and tried Screensaver Factory , a trial version, and even managed to create a screensaver from my photos, made during my vacation in Italy. And I like the result.

To sum up with Screensaver Factory it is possible to make a screensaver from imagies, videos and, as I understand, flash animation. Also there is a possibility to add background music, your own pictures and smooth picture display.

This program seemed to me very easy for home use.

If still you failed to create a screensaver with Sreensaver Factory or any other program (for example, ABC Flash Animation, Photo Screensaver Maker, etc) offered in the Internet, then you can easily download free screensavers from such websites as www.newfreescreensavers.com , where soon you will be able to download completely free screensavers on Christmas and New Year themes.

Screensavers and Distributed Computing

November 9, 2009 by newfreescreensavers

Today I would like to tell you in brief about one very popular application for screensavers, Distributed Computing. This form of screensaver takes advantage of your computer’s inactivity to process data from another source.

Nowadays there are many websites dedicated to distributed computing online projects. For example here Distributedcomputing.info you may find information about active and upcoming projects. One of such projects is SETI (Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence). SETI project was developed to search for extra-terrestrial radio signals.

This screensaver displays a graph of the radio spectrum and processes radio signal information received from SETI servers. The screensaver sends back results on the data processed. By using so many computers, SETI greatly reduces the amount of time it takes to process
all the signals received from its radio telescope.

To see a screensaver from SETI, please visit Seticlassic
or my website home page

Cosmic noise, which is written in the Arecibo radio telescope is divided into small units and sent to computers of participants to search their signals with special characteristics – those that may have an artificial extraterrestrial origin.
If the project will detect the signal, participants whose computers were engaged in the processing units containing a signal, will be added to the list of sponsors for all subsequent scientific publications.
If you want to help to Search for Extra-Terrestrial Intelligence, you may join this project and have fun!
